COURSE PROGRAM
The Course Program aims to immerse participants in the world of the true Italian Renaissance by studying and experimenting with the authentic painting techniques of the 15th and 16th centuries in Italy.
The main technique that will be addressed during the Course is egg tempera and its varieties.
The study of tempera painting technique begins with the preparation of colors using mineral pigments and the tempera emulsion. During the Course, you will learn the secrets of Pinturicchio's tempera, Botticelli, and the "sfumato" technique in tempera painting. During the Course, you will learn how to prepare a panel for the egg tempera technique and the most important principles of painting with this wonderful technique. During the Course, after the basic studies of tempera painting, it will be proposed to create a copy of a work by an Italian painter of the 15th-16th centuries, chosen by the Course Instructor, who will guide you step by step throughout the entire study process.

At the end of the course, a Certificate of Participation in the CLASS OF RENAISSANCE PAINTING TECHNIQUES will be issued.
During the course it is possible to have 2 make-up sessions for missed lessons. The make-up lessons are scheduled on dates agreed with the Course Teacher at the end of the school year (June or July). Materials are NOT INCLUDED in the Course subscription. The kit of materials needed for the Course can be purchased at our Workshop.

To participate in the Course, registration is mandatory. Registration for the Course is carried out at the HIGH ARTS ATELIER headquarters at via Somalia 26 in Turin.
