Welcome to the
High Arts Atelier
High Arts Atelier is a Renaissance Art School based in Turin, created with the aim of promoting, preserving, and enhancing the Art of Antique Tradition through all the activities it organizes.
Our mission, in Russia and Europe, is to restore value to the great European artistic tradition and to spread Russian artistic and cultural heritage, from medieval roots to the artistic currents of the 19th and 20th centuries.
At our Atelier, the classical techniques of academic drawing and painting, the arts and technologies of the ancient schools of the Italian Renaissance, medieval painting, Renaissance sculpture, and narrative illustration are taught and explored in depth.
Our courses are based on the traditional Russian Academic Method for drawing and painting, integrated with the heritage of the ancient Italian schools, which offered a complete artistic training. This path allows students to achieve solid technical skills, expressive autonomy, and mastery in the representation of the human figure through numerous artistic techniques: pencil drawing, charcoal, red chalk, pastel, oil painting, egg tempera, and many others.

Drawing is the foundation of the educational method upon which all artistic disciplines taught in the High Arts Atelier are based. Through the study of the academic method, the learning of artistic techniques, and the consistent practice of drawing and painting from life, the training programs in our Renaissance Art School foster the development of artistic sensitivity: an essential quality for every artist, regardless of their specialization.
At High Arts Atelier, exclusively Traditional Classical Art is taught, along with its evolutions born from the dialogue with contemporary artistic expression and technological innovations.

High Arts Atelier promotes artistic study based on the observation of the human figure, landscape, and still life. Most of our courses include the study of portraiture and the artistic nude, artistic anatomy, shadow and light, and color theory, as well as an in-depth study of techniques and tools for pictorial representation of diverse subjects and materials, including the study of classical landscape.
The Atelier also teaches the Russian academic method, known as the "constructive method" of drawing, which allows students to consciously understand and construct the figure, developing the ability to create original characters and compositions without relying on photographic copies.
Our artistic programs help develop an intelligent observation of reality, refining the perception of volume and space on paper or other artistic media. This training program takes students on a fascinating journey through the principles of "artistic physics," where technique, perception, and sensitivity meet.

The Method of
High Arts Atelier
Our teaching method for classical painting and academic drawing draws on the educational tradition of Russian Classical Art Academies. It is based on the study of the structure of form, light, optics, and their effects on visual perception, offering students a profound understanding of the principles governing artistic representation.
The curriculum also includes learning the tools and techniques of graphic and pictorial representation, applied to the human body, objects, and various forms present in nature, with the aim of developing technical precision, aesthetic sensitivity, and interpretive ability.

The Study of Ancient Painting Techniques of the Italian Renaissance
High Arts Atelier offers artistic programs dedicated to the discovery, study, and experimentation of the painting, sculpture, and artistical techniques of the Italian Renaissance.
The courses focus on the study of the ancient materials of Renaissance tempera painting and the numerous techniques used in Italy between the 14th and 16th centuries. During the course, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of ancient Italian art workshops, learning authentic painting techniques, discovering traditional materials, and exploring specific artistic methods.
The activities also include the study of plaster techniques, the creation of bas-reliefs and the in-depth study of many other artistic practices typical of Italian Renaissance.
The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired will enrich your creative experience, opening new horizons in the world of figurative art. This program will also stimulate the desire to continue experimenting with different materials and techniques, fostering the search for a personal, authentic, and original artistic language.

Medieval Artistic Techniques
High Arts Atelier promotes not only the artistic experience of the autentic IRenaissance, but also the wonderful universe of medieval art, through itineraries dedicated to the Russian and Byzantine Icon and its contemporary interpretations.
By participating in iconography courses at our Atelier, you can learn one of the oldest and most fascinating medieval painting techniques, discovering the secrets of iconographic "writing": from preparing colors with natural pigments to creating the sacred image, traversing all the fundamental phases of this ancient and contemplative practice.
This program allows you to experience the mastery of medieval iconographer monks, immersing yourself in the evocative world of sacred painting and enjoying a profound and meditative artistic experience. Beyond technical learning, the courses offer an opportunity for personal and spiritual growth, fostering inner well-being, concentration, and a more authentic connection with your creative sensibility.
